a week of NOWS ~ # 42

My word for 2018 is focus, which requires paying attention to the moment – the now. So, this year, I’ll be taking note of experiences I may have missed, without focus. Many may seem to be BGO’s (blinding glimpses of the obvious), but hey, I might have missed them.

Here’s this week of NOWS:

the life and legacy of Eugene H Peterson, Nov 6, 1932 – October 22, 2018;

a breathtaking wildflower in the middle of what seemed to be dead earth;

trusting a path, when I can see around the next turn;

praying with my Shalem friends from afar;

spotting a lawnmower hung on a road sign;

the generosity of humans;

seeing 15 deer at one time (alive, during deer season);

the concept of ‘yutori‘;

the life and legacy of Thomas Keating, March 7, 1923 – October 25, 2018;

praying for Pittsburgh and beyond; and

the comfort of home, wherever the place is.

What NOWS did you experience or witness this week?

  1. What a great article with Krista Tippett and Naomi Shihab Nye. I love the idea of “yutori” and later in the interview, about calling across the lines. Thank you so much, Lisa.
