My word for 2018 is focus, which requires paying attention to the moment – the now. So, this year, I’ll be taking note of experiences I may have missed, without focus. Many may seem to be BGO’s (blinding glimpses of the obvious), but hey, I might have missed them.
Here’s this week of NOWS:
a bishop leading us in a Beatles sing-a-long from the pulpit;
the gift of being trusted;
listening the birds singing in the morning;;
witnessing new lavender plants beginning to grow;
the scent of roses grown with love;
a gentle celebration of the 645th anniversary of Julian of Norwich’s Showings;
the delight of a small child ‘directing’ re-routed traffic (from a very safe distance);
how contageous a glimmer of hope can be;
watching a squirrel climb back up a tree, with an acorn in its mouth;
that first bite of the first vidalia pie of the season; and
the moment I realized I’m genuinely not dreading The First Mother’s Day. I’m grateFULL.
What NOWS did you experience this week?
